Jarvis Atkinson

Candidate for the
Yorta Yorta

My name is Jarvis Atkinson. I’m a proud Yorta Yorta man from Shepparton and Cummeragunja, and a father of three.

I’m standing for Community-Elected Member on the First Peoples’ Assembly because leadership means showing up for COMMUNITY — consistently, honestly, and with respect.

My strength comes from lived experience and deep connection to MOB. I’ve worked in construction, cultural heritage, and now as an Engagement Project Officer. I’ve sat with COMMUNITY, heard hard truths, and carried those voices into spaces where decisions are made. I understand both COMMUNITY and systems — and I know our people deserve more than token consultation.

I want an Assembly grounded in culture and accountable to COMMUNITY. One that delivers real outcomes — not just talk — especially for our young people, families, and those too often unheard.

I’m not here to speak for COMMUNITY — I’m here to stand with COMMUNITY. To listen. To advocate. To ensure our voices are respected.

This isn’t about a title — it’s about responsibility. As a father, I’m focused on the future we’re building for our children.

I ask for your support and your vote so we can strengthen self-determination — led by OUR PEOPLE, for OUR PEOPLE.
