Christine Tregonning

Hi my name is Christine-Tregonning, I am proud Bidwell/Gunal Traditional Owner of the South East Gippsland Region.  I am a Stolen Generations survivor, I grew up in Bairnsdale and Bung Yarnda (The Mish), as I got older I moved to Naarm-Melbourne for work.  After a few years in Melbourne,  I moved back to Bairnsdale to raise my family and play netball.  I am a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren. 

I am putting myself forward for the next Treaty election as a candidate for the South East Gippsland Region, but before I do I would like to Acknowledge and Pay Respects to my Elders past, present and emerging.

I have  a strong connection to Culture and Family and communities within this region, therefore any decision making or processes that are implemented will only be done yarning to Elders and the community of the South East Gippsland mob, but adhering to Treaty’s frameworks policies and procedures.

Our Future is in our hands and our voice at a local level matters.

Voting is open on 21 March and ends on 12 April.
