Tarni Morris

Candidate for the
Djab Wurrong, Kirrae Wurrong, and Peek Wurrong

My name is Tarni Morris (nee Jarvis). I’m a Djab Wurrong, Kirrae Wurrong, and Peek Wurrong woman (Clark, Lowe, Austin Families), currently living on Wadawurrong country in Balla-Arat.

As a young mum, I am passionate about supporting strong and healthy families in community, and hope to bring this perspective to the Assembly.

Key to this is honouring the lasting legacy of our people who have paved the way, allowing me the opportunity to have a voice. I am passionate about the role that the Assembly will have in supporting our young people to thrive.

Working at the Assembly, I understand the role of members in leading change for our people. Spending time yarning with community across our region, I understand the issues we face and commit to continuing to platform our voices.

Specifically, having led and volunteered in my LAECG, the Massive Murray Paddle (Dungulayin Mileka) and West Vic Eels, I have and will continue to appreciate and champion our grassroots community initiatives to support change.

As a member, I commit myself to being open and available to community. I believe there is strength in connection and unity, and would be honoured to support this evolution of the Treaty process.
