Robert Ogden

Candidate for the
Bunurong/Boonwurrung, Trawoolway

My name is Robert Ogden. I am an incredibly proud Bunurong/Boonwurrung and Trawoolway man, committed to strengthening our cultural voice, authority and self-determination.

As an inaugural member of the First Peoples’ Treaty Assembly representing Bunurong, I understand the work ahead. I have helped lay the foundations for Treaty in Victoria, and I know the next stage requires strength, clarity, cultural authority and unwavering commitment to community.

With over 20 years of working in the community, I bring lived experience, governance knowledge and cultural responsibility to this role. For the past three years, I have operated as a First Nations consultant, working across issues relating to mob — including cultural heritage protection, governance reform, community engagement, truth-telling processes and advocacy.

Treaty must reflect cultural lore, strengthen practice, build economic independence and restore decision-making power to our people — not just legislative frameworks.

I stand for:

• Cultural authority and Elders guiding decision-making

• Strong governance

• Protection of Country and cultural heritage

• Truth-telling and accountability

• Self-determination

I carry the responsibility of representing our voices with integrity and respect. If elected, I will continue to advocate for outcomes that are practical, enforceable and grounded in community aspirations.
