Leanne Paterson

Candidate for the
Wadawurrung

As a director of the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, I am one of seven guiding the organization’s vision and future. I’m a very proud Wadawurrung woman with deep roots in native title, I’ve also served on the Ngal-Ngal-La Advisory Committee and Treaty working group.

I have proudly represented our people at events statewide through cultural dance and ceremony, driven by a profound commitment to being both a listener and a voice for our people.

As a mother of two and a grandmother of two, I am more driven than ever to create change, especially in the realms of housing and healthcare, ensuring a brighter, healthier future for the next generations.

I believe both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians must be educated about our country’s true history—because until we tell the truth and teach it in schools, we cannot unite, understand, and build a better future together.

I would be honored to be chosen to advocate for our people, driving forward transformative change for both our people and our Country as well as non indigenous people.
