Joey Chatfield

Candidate for the

I’m Joey Chatfield (Berg) a proud Gunditjmara/ Kirrae Whurrong man. I’m standing as a candidate for the Assembly because I believe this moment is historic and must be guided by integrity, courage and community voice. Treaty is about justice, truth and a future built on respect for our people and our Country.

I stand with respect for our Elders being our foundation – past and present, who have carried culture, language and strength through generations of struggle. I’ll stand for all mob, genders, ages, broaden opportunities, pride and a future shaped by self-determination with wisdom and clear vision.

My knowledge and life experiences on many levels; if elected, I will always listen first. I will ensure that grassroots voices are heard, not just the loudest or most powerful. I will advocate for transparency, accountability and meaningful engagement across our communities. Treaty must deliver practical outcomes – protecting culture, strengthening governance and creating pathways for social and economic wellbeing.

It’s about responsibility. It’s about building structures that honour our sovereignty and create lasting change.

I’m ready to work collaboratively, speak honestly and stand firmly for mob. Together, we can shape a Treaty process that reflects our strength and secures our future.
