Hi, my name is Jess Mitchell, and I am a proud Gunditjmara and Wemba Wemba woman.
As an emerging leader with over a decade of experience in the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector, and holding several governance positions, I have been privileged to be guided and mentored by strong Aboriginal leaders who have shaped my commitment to community-led decision making.
I use my culture and deep connection to community as the foundation of my leadership, always centering community priorities and interests in everything I do. Through my governance roles, I have worked to advocate for strong, accountable outcomes that reflect the aspirations of our people.
If elected, I will use my platform to champion grass-roots community voices, always advocating for their needs and priorities. I pay homage to the dedication and commitment of past Assembly members and hope to continue the journey and legacy, contributing to a Treaty that strengthens self-determination, protects culture and Country, and delivers lasting outcomes for future generations.
