Glenda Thorpe

Candidate for the
Gunnai, Gunditjmara

I am a Gunnai/ Gunditjmara woman.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with and alongside many Aboriginal champions who fought for change in regard to better conditions for our people by addressing and developing much needed Health, Education and social justice services.

Started my humble beginnings as an Aboriginal Health Worker, my work ethic is guided and grounded at a grassroots level maintaining cultural, spiritual, emotional and social wellbeing awareness and application as my fundamental philosophy.

My passion is advocating for my people to reach their full potential as the true First Peoples of this land and empowering my people in all levels of work/life balance by transferring skills/ knowledge and mentorship.

Whilst much of my experience comes from past roles in executive management, I have extensive lived experience in working with my people, not only in GunnaiKurnai country but across the state and interstate at a grassroots level. I am confident I can transfer these skills to engage with my people of the South East Region of Victoria.
