Charles Williams

My name is Charles Andrew Williams and I’m nominating for a seat on the First People’s Assembly of Victoria – Metro Region. I am a descendant of my mother’s Yorta Yorta country in Victoria and my father’s Wiradjuri country, in NSW.

I was born, have lived and worked in Melbourne, all of my adult life. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with many Aboriginal people, Aboriginal leaders, Aboriginal organisations and networks across a variety of portfolios which include Health, Education, Reconciliation, Employment, Child Protection, Local Government, Arts and Sport, at both Commonwealth and State Government levels.

These experiences have sharpened my focus on advocating and delivering outcomes for my people. I am committed to being a strong voice for grassroots community and excited by the opportunities that Treaty presents.

Countless generations of our people have worked tirelessly towards this Treaty. As we move into the implementation of Treaty, I am putting my best foot forward and offer you my commitment, years of experience and skills. I want to make a difference for our next generation, I am committed to achieving better outcomes and I will continue the ongoing fight for our people.
