My name is Bayden Clayton and I am a proud Wamba Wamba/Wadi Wadi/Dja Dja Wurrung man with deep family connections to Swan Hill and the surrounding areas.
I am standing for the North West region because I believe we are at a turning point in our history. For too long, decisions about our lives have been made for us. I want to be a voice in the First Peoples’ Assembly to ensure that our sovereignty is never forgotten and that our community’s needs are put first.
My vision for Treaty is one of true self-determination. I want to see a Statewide Treaty that holds the government accountable and Traditional Owner Treaties that empower our local North West communities to manage our own lands, health and education. We need to turn the ‘dream’ of Treaty into a practical reality that delivers justice for our Elders and provides a strong foundation for our children. I am ready to work hard for our mob and ensure our culture is respected and celebrated by all. I ask for your support to represent our voices.
