Jedda Patten

Candidate for the
Krautungulung

My Name is Jedda Patten. I am a Krautungulung woman from East Gippsland Victoria. I am proud to come from a strong bloodline of family and political leaders.  I am a strong advocate in leadership, community engagement and ongoing political representation in systemic resolution, law and politics and reform.

My passion for Self-determination and political strength-based approaches has been for clan-based recognition that I worked really hard for on country and was politically engaged to the prime minister in 2017.  As Treaty grows in its current and future frameworks, I will advocate on the holistic stepping stones to gain cultural healing from the ongoing injustices that do not appear to be justified for our local Aboriginal communities with a lack of the un-representation from the layers of governmental policies. We still see a gap in the lack of governance for decision making processes at the heart of our people on country and in 2026 we need our peoples needs met, to feel safe and connected to the legislation and its impacts. To me Treaty is a growth leadership responsible for ongoing leadership opportunity with our people to endure for family, community and all networks combined. I would be very proud [word limit exceeded].
