Barry Firebrace-Briggs

Wawa, my name is Barry Firebrace-Briggs. I am a proud Yorta Yorta, Wamba Wemba, and Dja Dja Wurrung man.

In 2023, I had the honour and privilege of being elected to the First Peoples Assembly of Victoria.

Throughout this term, I have worked to ensure the Treaty process remains led by First Nations voices, grounded in deep respect for Elders, culture, and community knowledge, and is transparent and accountable so everyone understands how decisions are made.

I have focused on being inclusive, inviting all communities to participate and be heard, and on delivering real outcomes – not symbolism, but outcomes that strengthen opportunity, recognition, and unity.

If re-elected, I will continue to listen with openness and humility, and advocate for a fair and just Treaty that truly reflects the voices of our people. I will keep our community informed and involved at every step, and work with integrity, courage, and a strong commitment to long-term change.

I believe in this process because I believe in our future – a future built on respect, partnership, and shared responsibility. I am asking for your support so we can continue this important work together.
