Nicole Atkinson

My name is Nicole Atkinson, and I am seeking re-election to represent the North East Region in the upcoming election.

I am a Traditional Owner of North East Victoria, with strong ties to the South West. Born and raised in Shepparton, I have lived and worked within our Aboriginal Community my entire life. My connection to this region is grounded in culture, community and lived experience.

Victoria has entered a new chapter with Treaty now in place. This historic achievement reflects generations of advocacy and the collective strength of our people. But Treaty is not the end – it is the beginning. The focus must now be on implementation, accountability and Truth-Telling, ensuring Treaty delivers meaningful, measurable change.

I want to continue serving on the Assembly to help turn self-determination into practical outcomes across education, health, housing, economic development, cultural protection and governance. Through my work in Aboriginal education and my experience on various boards and committees, I bring strong relationships, practical knowledge and a deep commitment to social justice.

Our Community deserves consistent, informed representation to ensure Treaty empowers current and future generations. I seek your support to continue this important work for our region.
